There have been some fashion resurgences recently that I have genuinely laughed my ass off about! Leggings for one! (I still wore them though!) And at first I was sceptical about the comeback of the all-in-one! I found this versatile wonder in Littlewoods Direct
In 1987 at the grand old age of 9, I used to do Gymnastics and I begged my mum for weeks and weeks for a jumpsuit and eventually she conceded. We went to C&A and I proudly purchased a shocking pink jumpsuit, I used to wear my Gym Leotard under it and I wore this every saturday and all the girls gasped at my fantastic fashion sense (or they were gasping at the colour combo of shocking pink with ginger hair!)
My suit was very similar to this “Lemon Beauty”
I have found this rather cute version of this 80’s classic on Littlewoods Direct. Its simple and can definatley be jazzed up with some funky belts and beads!
I found these shoes in my trusty littlewoods catalogue. They were so beautiful, they made me weep for the fact that I can no longer wear high heels (I may just buy them to look at and stroke occasionally) You may look at these and say “fool they aint no 80’s shoes!” But I argue that they are!!!
You can purchase these baby’s here!
Goth fashion started in the 1970’s as a direct result of rock and punk, Although these musicians were not purely Gothic, fans of Alice Cooper were largely responsible for introducing the Gothic outlook, with its black-leather clothing and silver earrings for males. In the years when Joy Division was becoming popular, a more cultivated version of Gothic was introduced in England by singer Suzie Sioux, “Siouxsie”. Sioux’s style was derived from punk, and was inspired by groups like the Sex Pistols. (although some might say she nicked her look from Theda Bara the 1920’s silent movie vamp)
Many fans emulated her style, while the men had Robert Smith for inspiration (scores of men would be getting their birds to buy them red lippie from Boots!) The look was branded by many as Deathrock fashion.
Common Deathrock clothing items include black jeans, tight black or colored plaid bondage pants, short black or colored plaid bondage mini-skirts, black lycra mini-skirts, black or white lace skirts, etc.; black or white deathrock band or horror movie t-shirts, black, white or colored corsets, black or white dress shirts or polo shirts (both normally worn with a narrow tie), black or white camisoles, black or white lace tops; black, white or red fishnet tops (normally worn under other band t-shirts or corsets); black or white sport coats with band patches sewn onto the back; black denim, cotton, or leather waistcoats with band patches sewn onto the back; black leather motorcycle jackets with death rock album covers painted onto their backs; black or white tights, black and white striped tights; black fishnet stockings; and near-mandatory Dr. Martens boots.
I suggest that you pull on a black taffeta dress, some fishnets, serious eyeliner and these shoes, paint your room black and listen to Nag Nag Nag by Cabaret Voltaire
